ABOUT MISS HEATHER 

I am a classically trained musician with experience in both conservatory and Sukuki methods of learning. I began my musical journey with performance in mind, but a repetitive arm injury moved me onto the path of teaching. To be honest, I enjoy teaching much more than performing!

My desire is for my students to LOVE music! I use well-known curriculum in my lessons and am happy to adjust for learning needs or styles. With my younger students I often play games and give rewards for success. Older and adult students enjoy a currculum geared to their goals and music preferences.

I am a big believer in performance. I expect all my students to perform in our recitals as it enhances their musical journey. Students who are nervous or anxious about performing are placed in a group number with other students so that they can have the positive experience of performing without concern.

My husband and I moved to Hanna in July 2022 (with our dog Gibson, cat Gizmo and newest addition, kitten Lyra) and are loving the friendly people and relaxed lifestyle of Central Alberta. While I love having students in my studio, I know that there is a need in Alberta and Saskatchewan for online teachers and I am happy to accomodate in most cases. I still encourage online students to come to Hanna for our recitals if possible.
