POLICIES

  1. Scheduling

    1. Students commit to a timeslot for the 10 month schedule or until 30 days notice is given to cancel lessons. For teacher budgeting purposes, refunds are not given for planned or unplanned student absences. In some cases, make-up lessons will be given for absences (see 3. below).

    2. 30 minute lessons are for 1 student learning 1 instrument.

    3. Group lessons are offered on occasion.

    4. Online lessons are available in most cases.

    5. Lessons will run from September to mid-December and from January to mid-June.

    6. 30 days notice is required to cease lessons. More notice is appreciated.

    7. Students are not obligated to have lessons during July and August.

    8. Students will be able to book their fall lesson times beginning in spring.

    9. Current students have the first choice of their existing lesson time for fall. You are not obligated to choose your existing lesson time for the next school year.

    10. New students are registered on a first come, first served basis for fall, beginning in June.

  2. Monthly Tuition

    1. Monthly Tuition reserves a student’s spot in the schedule, regardless of whether the student attends the lesson or not.

    2. Tuition is charged monthly from September to June. Tuition is not based on the number of lessons in the month, but for the total lessons in the Calendar divided by 10 equal payments.

    3. Tuition payment is due on the 1st lesson of the month.

    4. A late fee of $15 will be added if payment has not been made by the 2nd lesson of the month.

    5. Payment can be made by cash or e-transfer.

  3. Missed Lessons & Make-Up Lessons

    1. Planned student absences: must be booked 2 weeks in advance on the Student Portal and will receive a make-up lesson.

    2. Students who are sick must text Miss Heather by 12pm on the lesson day for an online lesson. If a student is too sick to attend school or work, they are too sick to attend their lesson in person and should have an online lesson instead.

    3. No-show students will NOT receive a refund, credit or make-up lesson.

    4. Make-up lessons may be booked during vacant lesson times during the week. Vacant lessons can be seen on the calendar in the Student Portal.

    5. Missed make-up lessons will not be rescheduled.

    6. If a lesson is cancelled by Miss Heather for any reason, a make-up lesson will be given.

    7. Make-up lesson credits expire at the June recital.

  4. Recitals

    1. Recitals occur in mid-December and mid-June.

    2. All students are expected to perform at the recital in either a solo or group performance.

    3. Recital fees are included in the monthly tuition.
