MISS HEATHER’S MUSIC SUMMER 2024 SCHEDULE

About:

Summer is a great time to explore new instruments and musical styles. This summer, I am offering a variety of group classes and private lessons for new and existing students. All sessions are al-a-carte and can be booked as late as the Sunday prior to the class or lesson (if there is space available).

Current music students are encouraged to do at least 3 classes or lessons over the summer so that they don’t forget how to play their instrument or read music.

I plan to take a few weeks off during the summer, so I will send out what weeks classes and lessons will be available 2-3 weeks in advance.

Policies:

Group classes are 45 minutes in length, to a maximum of 5 students to ensure proper attention.

Private lessons are 30 minutes in length, with 1 student learning 1 instrument.

Lessons/Classes can be prepaid using a punch-card system. 

• Each punch-card is good for 1 student. 

• Punches on the card can be used for either group classes or private lessons. 

• Punch-cards expire on September 15, 2024.

You can also schedule last-minute timeslots of group classes or private lessons up to the Sunday before that class/lesson. 

• Payment is due on the Sunday before the lesson for last-minute group classes or private lessons.

• Last-minute group classes or private lessons are $27.50 each.

Private lessons can be in person or online (in most cases).

Make-up lessons will not be provided for group classes or private lessons during the summer.

Participation in group classes or private lessons in the summer does not guarantee a spot in the fall.

Punch-card Purchases:

Each punch is worth 1 group class (45 minutes) or private lesson (30 minutes).

• 8 punches for $160

• 6 punches for $135

• 4 punches for $100

• Families of 2+ students will receive a 10% discount on punch-cards.

Group Lessons:

KODALY

(3-6 year olds with a parent/guardian) - introduce your young one to music through singing, dancing, percussion

FIDDLE

(violists must have taken lessons for 6 months) - fun violin where we play songs using new techniques including playing upside-down

Wednesdays: 5:00-5:45pm

July 3 (intro and get your music), 24, 31, August 7, 14

Full series: $100

YOUNGER GUITAR

(age 5-8 with your own instrument) - class focusing on reading tabs and playing songs

Tuesdays: 3:00-3:45pm

Full series: $60

BEGINNER PIANO

(age 6+) - every wondered if your child would enjoy the piano…this is the class for them!

Wednesdays: 4:00-4:45pm

July 17, 24, 31, August 7

Full series: $80

Or drop in for 1 punch

RHYTHM & PERCUSSION

(age 6+) - work on your rhythm through games, drumming and activities

Tuesdays: 4:00-4:45pm

July 23, 30, August 6

Full series: $60

DUELING PIANOS

(age 6+ with at least Level 1) - play fun songs together and against each other

Tuesdays: 5:00-5:45pm

OLDER GUITAR

(age 9+, limited guitars available to rent) - introductory class on reading tabs, basic chords and strum patterns

July 22-25: 6:00-6:45pm

Full series $80

Private 30 Minute Lessons:

Choose from: Piano, Violin, Voice, Beginner Guitar, Theory (Theory, History, Harmony, Counterpoint)

Select the timeslot on available days and you will get the exact time on the Sunday before the lesson.

• Early: 2:00-4:00pm

• Mid: 4:00-5:00pm

• Late: 5:00-6:00pm
